You know the feeling. You're about to reinstall Windows on your Tablet PC or laptop.
You think you copied all your pictures, music, and documents to your desktop but
you're not sure. Well now you have a little help.
Compare Files is a small utility, originally developed for personal use, that compares the contents of two directories to
determine which files and folders from one directory are not in the other. It also compares file time stamps to detect
modified files.
Compare Files is very easy to use. There are toolbar buttons to launch Windows Explorer to either the first or second
folder. You can also open a selected file or directory to check its contents. Selecting a file or directory in one
list automatically matches up the corresponding file or directory in the second list.
Because it was originally developed for personal use, it does not have any configuration options. The file timestamp
comparison will currently ignore up to one hour of difference between two files. Compare Files will not synchronize
the two directories either. For an excellent synchronization program, check out SmartSync Pro.
